Two Opinions- One Lord The world would make you think you have diverse options, multiple opinions, many choices and many ways to enter heaven or some other celestial paradise. Behind the politics, the race war, religious systems, gender controversy, family deconstruction, social, economic and human issues and the division of our nation and the church body, there’s really only two opinions, it’s good vs evil. There’s a battle for your heart and soul and one dude you have the devil, the prince of the air using every tactic to divide us and the other you have the true and Living God. “And Elijah came to all the people, and said, “How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But the people answered him not a word.” I Kings 18:21 NKJV Which side will you choose? Will you remain silent? God is trying to draw your heart towards him, will you respond? He’s proven over and over again that He’s the Lord. “And it came to pass after many days that the word of the Lord came to Elijah, in the third year, saying, “Go, present yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain on the earth.” And it came to pass, at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near and said, “Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that You are God in Israel and I am Your servant, and that I have done all these things at Your word. Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that You are the Lord God, and that You have turned their hearts back to You again.”” I Kings 18:1, 36-37 NKJV Jesus is coming back, stop being fooled and know there is just one war and one God, and He loves you. #oneLord #oneGod #oneHope #one #jesus #austin (at Midtown Commons at Crestview Station) https://www.instagram.com/p/Ck8Sgviszgf/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
@onehope said: oikawa pops up by ushi's side, stretching himself upwards on his tiptoes to place a kiss on his cheek. then swooshes away.
Ushijima Wakatoshi is many things - but a cook is not one of them. For much of his adult life, he has gotten by with basic survival skills and simple, easy, quick recipes aligned with the strict diet befitting an athlete, but... spending time in the kitchen brings him no particular joy or pleasure; little more than a necessary step to an end and to the normal functioning of a normal day.
He has been making efforts, recently - mostly for Tooru, mostly because Tooru is usually the dedicated cook between the two of them and at some point Wakatoshi decided it was a little unfair to let him handle most of their meals while hovering unhelpfully or making conversation. So, from time to time, the Adlers’ cannon gets up earlier than his partner, and takes charge of breakfast for the both of them. Breakfast felt like a good starting point. Simple, efficient, perfect to practice the basics; and in all objectivity? He is getting better at this (at avoiding bland, boring combinations, at making food actually enjoyable and not a mere necessity).
As in anything he does, Wakatoshi dedicates his whole attention to the task at hand (he has learnt the importance of cooking time when it comes to omelette texture, and is determined to nail it down this time) and fails to hear the quiet footsteps coming up behind him. Sometimes, he wonders if Tooru takes advantage of this; magicking himself into existence at his side when he least expects it just to see a reaction / surprise / an innocent slip-up.
It works every time. Especially when Wakatoshi is 1. still a little groggy from sleep; 2. a little delayed in his reactions; 3. focused on an omelette.
The soft touch at his cheek blinks him out of his bubble; and Tooru has already seemingly teleported to the other side of the room by the time he turns his head and opens his mouth to say good morning, perhaps return the gesture of affection. But Tooru is already too far away, and Wakatoshi can only grasp at the innocent humming left in his wake (deliberate, he suspects). It is mildly frustrating. It is a little very endearing, especially when Tooru looks at him with a smile on his face and the morning light caught in warm brown eyes.
It is endearing, until a distinct smell of burnt eggs snaps him out of his reverie.
Oops.
He got distracted.

Ushijima isn’t a drinker. By any measure, one would say he veers on the side of abstinence: an athlete whose schedule throughout the day, routines, and habits are strictly regimented and dictated by the dedication and earnest he puts into the sport. Alcohol isn’t part of a professional athlete’s recommended regimen... usually. There are rare occasions (celebrations, most of all) where he’ll allow himself a relative flexibility, and accept one drink, maybe two, at most.
The problem being... being unaccustomed to alcohol, his body does have a tendency to be a little over-dramatic when exposed to it.
Yes. Ushijima Wakatoshi, Japan’s cannon, is a total, complete lightweight.
Of course, his partner never fails to point it out whenever necessary. The second he steps / staggers into the entrance of their home (nearly trips on his own feet while trying to take off his shoes), Tooru is leaning into the doorway, arms crossed over his chest and (Wakatoshi doesn’t see it yet, but he swears he can sense it) sporting a fond, mocking what-did-I-tell-you smile on his face. Fair enough, Wakatoshi muses.
Fair enough, he muses, the next day too, when Tooru sets down a glass of water and a painkiller in front of him on the breakfast table. Forehead resting in his hand, Wakatoshi mutters / grumbles / sort of articulates a vague thank you, pushing back against a raging headache (can one be allergic to alcohol? or was he really that ridiculous?). He vaguely remembers letting Tooru guide him to their bed and crashing there, and... the rest was naught but a painful blur.
Under his breath, Ushijima swears he’ll never let Hoshiumi convince him to drink again.
A hand runs through his hair, pulling him out of his (miserable) contemplation, and Wakatoshi looks up just in time for Tooru to gracefully, seamlessly settle into his lap, arms looped around his neck and gently taunting smile still present when Wakatoshi looks up to contemplate his boyfriend’s handsome features. “ ‘morning.” He says, only about fifteen minutes late, with the gruff of the night before muffling the barytone of his voice. His arms loop around Tooru’s waist; pulling him close until he can rest his forehead in the crook of his neck and hear muffled laughter spill into his ear. Tooru’s laugh is warm. Tooru is warm. Tooru is comfortable and maybe the headache is subsiding a little, and maybe Wakatoshi is about to fall back asleep right here and there. From this incident, Wakatoshi draws two conclusions: 1. hangovers are terrible, and should never have been invented in the first place. 2. hangovers are not so bad, when Tooru is around to eclipse them.
@onehope: ( text message from artem to : ella ) do you happen to be free tomorrow evening? a new movie adaption of one of my favorite books is airing tomorrow and i was wondering if you’d like to go see it with me. as much as i like watching movies alone, it’s always more fun with your input. let me know and i will pick you up. have a good night.
beep! the cherry tint is coloring her cheeks even before she's had the time to read the actual message. something changed these past few days and ella has learned to expect more... personal inquiries, rather than work from artem. it's subtle of course, a recommendation here, a check up on her eating habits there – and she would have to admit to be enjoying this new side of the senior attorney!
( txt : artem ) i am free! what book is it, do i know it? either way, i'd love to see it with you 💝
was the heart emoji too much? the girl worries her bottom lip, but taps the send button anyway.

haru && makoto . / @onehope
“do you ever crave anything that isn’t mackerel, haru-chan?” words are coming out in a teasing lilt, eyes rolling fondly as he pushes open the door to the grocery store, waiting for haru to enter first. “we’ll stock up on some mackerel and then get some more groceries for the flat. we’re running low on a lot of stuff. . .and honestly, i’m a bit tired of eating out.”
hinata && oikawa . / @onehope
“Mouuu ~ Toto-chan, you promised that we were going to spend today together.” Sulky words are spoken to the taller male, frown settling on his lips. He hadn’t been able to spend much time with Oikawa at all. Between their busy schedules that left them too tired to even talk when they came home, he was hoping that today would be the day they stayed in together. “Can’t you spare some time? I hardly see you anymore. . .”
luke && marius . / @onehope
“I told you not to stay up all night. This is entirely your own fault, Marius.” Luke’s tone is dry, though there was hidden amusement sparkling in his coral eyes as he slides over a fresh mug of coffee, brewed from the coffee machine. Soft yawns part from the detective’s lips as he pushes himself up from the counter to head right back over to pour himself a cup as well. Currently clad in a slightly large shirt ( perhaps not his own ) and a pair of shorts fitting of summer, his hair a disheveled mess. Clearly he had just woken up.
“We have a meeting to get to in a couple of hours. Wake yourself up.”
