In the last few days, our little paradise Kerala, India, experienced some of its worst floods in nearly a century, with torrential rains shuttering the state’s major infrastructure. It was heartening to see how our community came together as one to help one another as helicopters airlifted stranded families from the rooftops of their homes, and the navy plucked survivors desperately clutching tires and other floating debris from the fetid waters. All across social media we saw strangers trying to get affected people food, medicines and other basic necessities. We used technology in ways it was never meant to be used and we were able to mobilize resources, both cash and kind at an unprecedented rate from around the globe. We wasted no time in pointless debates about religion or politics, just humans helping other fellow human beings. This was humanity at it's best. #ThisIsKerala #WeWillRiseAgain #OneBillionActsOfKindness #KeralaRains #KeralaFloods (at Kerala)
