"Gentle..and slow..and soft. As you wish it to be, as you need it to be." His voice dipped low at the end, a register for lullabies and whispered confessions; a sweet warm ache bloomed in Tallin’s chest. 

He canted his head. Their foreheads touched. "For you, I would surely give it."

He's quiet for once, letting Dimitri work in peace. He'd chased off poor Mercedes and anyone else who'd made an attempt with his snide remarks and volatile mood (which was brought on by being in pain, admittedly) but evidently it hadn't worked with the blond.

He didn't even make a snarky comment about how gentle the other was actually being when it came to this and how much he seemed to care. Why did he care? Felix had been nothing but cruel to him for years.

He opened his mouth to say something, paused, then looked away. After a moments debate, he did it again, finally breaking the silence.

How do they handle meeting new people?: *handshake* “Serpent Captain Yuza Jones. Pleasure to meet you.” *nothing else, ever*

When facing certain doom, what’s their outlook?: She doesn’t think doom is certain; there’s always one last thing to try. Buuut if the doom were absolutely certain, she’d whip out a flask and enjoy one last drink.

What do they do to relax?: Walks in the forest, a nice book by the river with some snacks, a glass of wine and a hot bath

What’s their favourite outfit?: light button-down t-shirt over a tank top, and shorts (if it’s warm enough)

Traumas/Personality quirks: Doesn’t talk much; only when she is 100% certain of what she wants to say will she speak up, but more often than not, what she wants to say is no longer germane.

About Them as of Current story patch: Planning a recon mission to figure out what these creepy towers are

History: Her parents’ farming village could only support one child per family, so when her mother became pregnant with her second child, she hid the prenancy, and gave the infant up to a trader who could give her a better life. She spent her young childhood moving all over the Far East, before finding herself on a ship bound for Radz-at-Han. She spent her adolescence here, learning to lie, cheat, and steal to survive; there were plenty of wealthy merchants and traders who had coin to spare. She spent most of her time in Thavnair running from the authorities with a fellow outlaw, whose name she’d forgotten (if it was even his real name). Eventually she fled to Gridania, where she was determined to clean up her act. She joined the Twin Adders, where she found herself quickly rising the ranks, thanks to a series of strange encounters in her duties.

Feelings towards others: (I redid so much of this bc she rarely leaves the Shroud for anything but demons, never mind leaving Eorzea)

-Kan-E-Senna – Yuza realizes that the Elder Seedseer is waaay out her league, so she allows herself to have a crush on her. The few times she’s had to brief the Council, she’s found herself tripping over her words, almost daydreaming as she speaks.

-Grand Marshall Brookstone – She finds it hard to resent the leader of the Twin Adder, for giving her unit what he has, but is ultimately able to resent him for not giving all that he can. Nuts to the war in Gyr Abania; there’s plenty of danger in the Shroud, too.

-Commander Vorsaile Heuloix – After accompanying the squad on a dangerous trip into the catacombs at Tam Tara, the commandant of the Yellow Serpents found a deep and profound respect for Yuza, and she, him. The share a knowing nod when they pass each other in the Adders’ Nest.

-Mother Miounne – After a particularly rough mission, Yuza and her squadmates will spent a fair amount of gil at the local tavern, and the proprietress is always happy to see them, and hear about...whatever scant details they are permitted to share with civilians.

-Luciane (Archer’s Guildmaster) – While she is proud of Yuza’s ability with a bow, she knows that Yuza is easily disheartened by the scorn of those she looks up to; Luciane uses this to keep Yuza at arm’s length.

-E-Sumi-Yan (Conjurer’s Guildmaster) – He is also proud of Yuza’s ability as a conjurer, however he builds up her confidence with praise. After she found a white mage job stone after a particularly dangerous mission, E-Sumi-Yan learned of the Voidsent Investigation Patrol, and figured it would be to the realm’s benefit to teach her white magic.

-Fufucha – She taught Yuza the basics of botany, before she joined the Twin Adder. They will often stroll through the forest together, and sometimes stop for a picnic! (If I ever write a beach-episode-analogue, Fufucha will probably be there.)

-Raya-O-Senna & A-Ruhn-Senna – Took over teaching Yuza white magic at E-Sumi-Yan’s request. Yuza hasn’t figured out how Padjali names work, so she has no idea they are related to the Elder Seedseer (on whom she is crushing hard).

-Mujih Mewrilah –  A prying reporter who has always tried to be within earshot of the squad during their post-mission drinking parties. Yuza will try to shoo her away, since the general public cannot know what they are doing so close to their homes, but respects her tenacity...in a weird way.

- Other Warrior of Lights – Yuza has heard stories of adventurers, blessed with the power of Light, who single-handedly wipe out scores of voidsent and other monsters. She would love to meet one of these heroes...
