ONCOM! @thejavalaksaco Finally we got our hands on that most enigmatic and hard to source Javanese superfoods - Oncom. Produced as a by-product of Tauhu by fermenting the waste curds with a yeast culture similar to Tempeh, the end result is reddish in colour with a sweet cheesy aroma and spongy yet firm texture. An important ingrediant in authentic Laksa Bogor its also enjoyed cooked as a Sambal with Pea Eghplants or Petai Beans. We are closed until 5th January.
