You met his eye, smiling. "I'll be asleep in seconds. You're not getting anything from me tonight."

"Oh, what a pity," he drawled. You knew he was only teasing: Although the vampire's morals were lacking at best, you knew that he would always take no for an answer when it came to sex.

It was a low bar, but a comfort nevertheless.

Abandoning your own supplies, you helped Astarion set up his own tent, and practically dove inside once you were finished. His bed roll was far from luxurious, but it was warm and safe and welcome after the trials of the day.

Astarion laid down beside you. It was a tight fit, and he pulled you close to his chest.

"Your arm's gonna go numb," you murmured.

"It's okay if you fall asleep on me, darling," he replied. "I'll live."

Idly, you wondered if vampires could have their limbs go numb. Yes, they still technically had blood, but did it course through their veins the same way as yours? Did Astarion ever gets pins-and-needles?

Before you could question him about the subject, sleep overtook your wondering, your face buried in his neck.

you could see that jake nearly choked on his beer once his brain caught up to what you had just told him. his eyes were burning holes into the back of your head and you smiled to yourself.

“hey, could you help me with something inside the house?” jake asks, walking up beside you.

“uh, sure,” you follow him through the back door, trying to ignore the chill that runs down your spine when he placed his hand on your lower back.

you follow him through the house to his bedroom and before you could even think, he’s pressing you against the wall. he kicks the door closed with his foot and his hands are all over you.
