Hereβs a fun bird I tried so hard to capture last year and finally got a good shot of this January, a Belted Kingfisher!! As their name suggests, they are great fishers, flying along waterways and diving for fish once spotted! Their calls are distinctive once you learn them but they fly so fast it can be hard (for me) to get good pictures of them unless they are perching ππ π . . . Red Barn Hay Bales 4180 A by Jim Choate Via Flickr: Barn, hay bales and wheat fields south east of Moscow, Idaho in The Palouse late on a summer day. When I walked-by a photo of this barn on the wall of the place where I was staying, I thought, "I've been in this area a number of times. Wish I had seen this beautiful barn." Late the next day, driving over a hill on a dirt road, there it was in a small valley with a foreground of scattered hay bales. Talk about lucky!
