Harry and Cindy Story
vanillaparis submitted:
Hey Cindy! Okay so one time I was writing you a Niall story that got really screwed up and I was never able to rewrite it for you and I felt so bad. So when I saw that you wanted either a Harry or Liam story, I decided to write a Harry story for you. I am submitting it because my computer sometimes messes up with ask posts. But here is part 1. I figured with the concert coming up for you (I think?) it would be a fun way to get excited for it. P.S. the beginning of the story takes place tomorrow morning hahaha.. ok so without further adieu: Parte Uno
One Direction had just arrived in Oakland just a two days before their big concert at the Oracle Arena. As they stepped off the tour bus at the parking site, they yawned and stretched, wondering where they could get a good coffee, it was only 5 am, after all. But they were particularly excited about the days’ plans. While their team was setting up the stadium for the concert, they would be disguised and sent off into the public with secret cameras, trying to fool unsuspecting citizens. They had done it before in England, and knew that this time, their costumes had to be better to prevent discovery. So Harry, Niall, Liam, Louis, and Zayn were whisked off into wardrobe and makeup. Afterwards they were each sent to different locations, where they proceeded to cause havoc and have a good time. Harry was in a particularly agreeable mood. He had been disguised as a pimply and awkward teenager. He looked extremely unfortunate and was avoided and looked down upon by the every girl at the mall that he was stationed at. Yet he proceeded to chase them and ask them for free hugs or directions to the ladies’ room. Yes, you read that correctly. After the shooting was done the boys’ were given the rest of the day off, a blessing seeing as it was only 10 am. As everyone loaded into the SUV to return to the hotel, Harry thought for a moment, taking a step back.
“I think I am actually going to stick around here,” Harry smiled. “I kind of enjoy the anonymity.” The boys nodded and wished him luck.
“Don’t cause too much trouble,” Louis cooed from the window.
Harry watched the SUV turn the corner, soon disappearing from sight.
“Freedom.” He whispered softly as he turned back to the mall.
Cindy had been a mess of jittery excitement in the days leading up to the 1D concert. She found herself imagining various scenarios of catching the eye of one of the boys on stage while she labored away the majority of her days in summer school. But thinking of the concert brought her solace, along with checking her tumblr, of course. After her Monday class, she immediately made her way to the mall, hoping to find the perfect outfit. She had been going through her wardrobe the day before and nothing seemed right anymore.
She was hoping to meet a friend there, but the friend bailed at the last minute and Cindy would have to brave the stores alone. Before getting to the shopping, she decided for a quick pick-me-up at Jamba Juice. It was when she was there that somebody caught her eye. He wasn’t very nice to look at. He was in serious need of Proactiv and his hair was a mope of frizzy red curls. It looked like he hadn’t showered in a while and Cindy wondered if a blind pig picked out his clothes. Actually, no, she mused, even a blind pig would find that outfit repulsive. But there was something intriguing about the boy. Sure, he was awkward and made her feel slightly uncomfortable just by looking at him. But she sensed something more to him. A vague attraction that didn’t really make sense to her, at least not until she looked closer. He had a concerned look on his face as he examined the menu above the counter. His brows were furrowed in contemplation. Cindy watched his eyes as they scanned. They were large and green and … beautiful. Before Cindy knew what she was doing, she found herself approaching him.
“Confused?” She asked, casually.
The boy turned to her, as if just noticing that he wasn’t the only one in the store.
“Nah,” He smiled. Cindy noticed two small dimples on his cheeks. “I’m just trying to see which drink will be safest on my vocal cords.”
“You sing?” Cindy asked, amused and impressed,
He nodded and smiled wryly. “You could say that.”
Cindy gave a confused look, but he didn’t press on, so she changed the subject. They had gotten their drinks and sat down, beginning to talk about their hobbies. Cindy told him about fashion and about her summer school classes. The boy, who said his name was Henry, seemed very distant when talking about himself. Cindy took note at the strange sound of his voice, almost as if he was forcing his accent. He’s probably Canadian, she reasoned.
It wasn’t long before they had finished their drinks and Henry confessed that it was his first time in town and he hadn’t really seen many of the sights. Cindy thought for a moment. She realized that this was one of those times in life when an opportunity prevented itself, and you could either take it or spend the rest of your life wondering ‘what if.’ Sure he wasn’t the cutest boy in the world, but maybe it was the way he talked or how he really seemed to listen to her that made him seem so attractive to Cindy.
“Maybe I could show you around, give you a tour.” Cindy offered, already feeling excited.
Henry thought for a moment. He seemed to be having a silent battle in his head.
“You okay?” Cindy asked. “If you don’t want to go it’s fine—“
“No that’s not it at all!” Henry said, “It’s just… I … You know what? Nevermind. I’m in.”
OH MY GOD THIS SI SO CUTE OFJMSDf?a?t#EWGFNSAD YOU'RE GOING TO CONTINUE RIGHT??????????/ OMG I'M SO EXCITED I LOVE YOU
