“We have only just made it to the Observatory,” said Sliver. “It was costly, and it will take some time to restore the funds father used to do all of the wonderful things he did for this clan.”

“In the mean time,” said Fragment. “We would like to put more time and effort into the research of alchemy, and would like to do some data gathering on how Sornieth has changed since our brothers and sisters the Bogsneaks have come to be.”

“For this reason,” said Sliver. “We would like to call forward volunteers to leave the clan. We do not want to displace anyone who wishes to stay, but especially those dragons among us who do not have concrete jobs or whose jobs come and go.”

“If we are to do more research,” said Fragment. “We will need as much space as possible. Again, this is on a voluntary basis. We will be as accommodating as possible in getting you a new home. You may even venture to our friend clans if you have hopes of returning. But we ask, as your leaders, that you provide space for these efforts, which will deepen our understanding of the world around us.”

It’s true that the new lair in the Observatory filled up rather rapidly and quite out of nowhere. This action is not entirely unfamiliar to the clan, as Shard the Investor called for a similar cutback in clan size and then near entirely forbade new members while he was the clan head.

Sunlore and Maat have opted to take up tasks as Alchemist apprentices since they are the offspring of the Head Alchemist, Alchemilla.

The first recruit toward their pursuit of knowledge has already arrived. He’s a seer straight from the Sea of a Thousand Currents named Opal. This brings the clan’s number of water dragons up to 4, though Sliver and Fragment have already stated he is not a proper member of the clan and will be returning to his homeland when he’s done acting as a sort of consultant on how best to direct their efforts.

There is no word yet on how the next generation of leaders will be handled. Truly, these siblings are trying a new way, and these are interesting times at the Observatory.

It was very hard to garb Hibernas. He has a very beautiful pattern and you don’t want to cover that up. So we did our best to leave his wings especially very visible.

Peacetide was also a little on the difficult side but it stemmed more from his resistance to the process. He was very upset with the idea of not wearing the peacebringer’s cowl. He considers it a symbol of his job as the clan’s mediator. We got him to meet us half way by promising to find a peace dove for him.

Caress is stunning as always, and practically dressed herself. She went out and got that beautiful nebula accent and came to us with it already on. Did you know she donated a significant portion of her wealth to the clan’s funds to put toward completing wardrobe sets and buying certain accents? She’s the reason we have so many kilts and have filled out most of our sylvan gear. We’re working on mage sets, but you know how the marketplace can be. She decided she wanted to wear Amethysts this season instead of her usual Pearls. And for a splash of color she even took the hibiscus I used to wear.

Rieslingale got her accent back. There just isn’t one, especially fit for a wind representative, that fits her better. Since she was practically falling asleep the whole time we dressed her up fairly quickly. And as a boon we even let her wear fewer items than she was wearing before. That was it’s not as... unwieldy to wake her up.
