Identity Thief (2013) When Sandy has his identity stolen, the police won’t help him, so he has to take it upon himself to bring the perpetrator in and get his own justice! Identity Thief is a classic example of, great idea, terrible execution. It’s a strange flick that throws some strange logic around and never really makes any sense. From the onset and throughout, this gets confusing. There are times where you’ll find yourself pondering what world this is set in. There’s so many questions you’ll be asking that you end up giving up asking them. The film isn’t without its positives though and there are times where this made me laugh. I enjoyed the performances from Bateman and McCarthy, they played their characters well. (They probably could have written a better story for them too!) The film is 2 hours long... really... 2 hours for this film is way too much. This should have been 80 minutes max. Considering you watch this for 2 hours, nothing really happens, there’s no real success or gratification for investing 2 hours here and the ending is a semi sentimental slump. Overall, there isn’t much you can say about Identity Thief, it isn’t the worst film you’ll ever watch, but it’s definitely nowhere near the best. It’s funny at times, but don’t hold your breath for a side splitting comedy, else you’ll be bitterly disappointed. If you’re a fan of Melissa McCarthy then I guess you could give this a shot, but it’s not her finest hour! #IdentityThief #IdentityThiefMovie #IdentityThiefReview #Omarviews #Comdedy #ComedyMovie #MelissaMcCarthy #JasonBateman #NetflixMovie #MovieNight #Cinephile #NetflixAndChill https://www.instagram.com/p/B7bg4OsFs2Q/?igshid=q94zc8os2gp
