A female Blackbird looking slightly ruffled at dawn.
This juvenile black headed gull has the "privilege" of being the first test subject for my new #om1markⅱ
My first Kingfisher photo with my new OM1 Mk2 with the 100-400 F5-6.3 lens
My first attempt using precapture (more properly procapture in OM speak).
It opens up a whole new set of possibilities so I cannot wait to try it again. Next time it may even be properly focussed 😂

Not only am I moving from a Canon R6 Mk 2 to an OM1 Mk2 (I obviously have a thing about mark 2s) I have also just switched from a Linux PC to a Macbook Air 2025. Wow the M4 chip is a game changer. This Great Tit enjoying the early morning sun is my first photo from this combination, and my first Mac wallpaper.
When I visited the river Wharfe near Ilkley a couple of weeks ago I was worried that it might actually run dry. After visiting again last Sunday I am not ... This was also my first experiment with a slow shutter speeds and the computational ND filter on my OM1 Mk2.
Moving to the "dark side".
After 18 months of using a full-frame Canon r6 Mk2, usually coupled with a Sigma 150-600 Contemporary lens, I decided it was time for a change.
Until I saw a Youtube video by Waterfall Joe I had not realised that the OM series of camera's were weather sealed to a certified standard. Given the obvious savings in size, weight, the outstanding image stabilisation, and the x2 crop factor it was an easy choice to make.
