penig replied to your photoset âI canât remember which downtown lot this is (Luluâs maybe? PURE?) but...â
It's Midnight Flows. It needs a photoboth and some instruments. Also not good for large groups, though you could add more seating if you're willing to give up some dance floor.
Ah, thank you! I havenât visited the Downtown lots in ages.
penig replied to your photoset âNothing like a good family outing downtown where the teens can where...â
I have a lovely default for that vest, but only for adults. I want one for teens.
Poor teens. I do think theyâre the most overlooked age group...well, either them or elders. But at least teens have a fairly good selection of clothes in the vanilla game. Elders...not so much!Â

I think I would describe my MM style as "muted" colors. I also never jumped on the bright everything bandwagon, though I do really enjoy seeing other people with super colorful games. Thanks for answering. :)
Yes, I saw your answer to that question too, and I think thatâs a great way of putting it. :)Â

I wonder if he's "scolding" a baby with a dirty diaper? Quite the mystery!
That would make sense too...except that had no babies! So mysterious! :D

Oh yes, absolutely! But not in a cheaty wayâŚif that makes any sense. :P Building and decorating cheats probably go without saying (and moveobjects to save poor stuck Sims!), and I use familyfunds sometimes to make families poorer. I canât even remember the last time I used motherlode!Â
I: What is your sim-inspiration; any styles you like to create?
Ack, I was afraid I would get asked this one! Itâs so hard to pinpoint exactly where inspiration comes from in a bustling community where we all feed off each other. I canât even count how many times Iâve seen a picture of someone elseâs game and though âOoh, thatâs really cool!â and instantly want to try it myself. But I do know that one of the first Sims blogs/sites/other that really inspired me was @meetmetotheriverâs LJ because I discovered the community back when a more realistic style was the in-thing and hers was the first I found that really embraced that Maxis-match style that I liked (and had little choice but to play because my old computer couldnât handle much CC) and she played the premades just like me! So through her I discovered a lot more other Maxis-match journals and stalked them for a long time until I finally worked up the courage to join in.Â
As for creating stylesâŚI donât really know what else to call my style other than Maxis matchâŚthough maybe a bit more mellow/darker than a lot of MM-ers. (That is, not so many bright colours, though I donât mind them.) I really like more classic/traditional styles in building and decorating, though Iâve experimented with modern stuff as well. Gee, this is a really broad question! Iâll end it there before it gets too long. Oops, too late.
Z: How many GB/MB of CC do you have? Is your mods folder organized?
Itâs at 6.24 GB right now, which is bigger than Iâd like, but Iâm definitely not in the mood for cleaning it out right now! It doesnât feel like I have that much stuff in there eitherâŚ
And yes, my entire Downloads folder is painstakingly organized. Though itâs been organized for years now, so it really isnât that painful to keep it up. ^_^ I like to be able to find things easily, in case I ever want to pull something, or replace if an updated version comes in.
Yay, I got about 10 hours of sleep in two âshifts.â âBout time. :P Unfortunately, now my sleep schedule is whacked since I woke up at 4:30AM. But hopefully Iâll get back on track over the next few days.
Anyway, replies for @littleblondesim, @olivesims, @holleyberry, @penig, and @simblrcorner...

Your post lead me to noeatcrap, too. I agree completely with you that it has too much extra stuff. Same as Fuzzy said, I'm interested. :)
Yeah, Pescadoâs mods are like that. He has very specific ideas about how the game should run. Which is fine because we all do, and all our ideas are a little different from each other. (Mine happens to be waaaaaaaay different than Pescadoâs. :) ) I just wish he had separate mods for each bit of what noeatcrap does, so that we could pick and choose the bits we want. But, since he doesnât....Iâm going to take a look at it today. If I canât make head or tails of it (which is likely, as Iâm a very beginner when it comes to understanding BHAVs), Iâll be putting in a request with a Simmer-friend who doesnât do Tumblr but who DOES do BHAVs. Iâm sure she can wrangle it, when she has a bit of time, and Iâll share what she comes up with if she doesnât do so herself.

Some of the sky dome things have distant terrain at the bottom of them and I think it helps.
O RLY???? Iâll have to hunt some down, see if theyâll work as needed... Thanks for the tip!

Where can I find this nobathroomdishes mod?
If you havenât already found it for yourself, it (and all of Pescadoâs mods) is here on this alphabetical list:Â http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/ffs/al/hacks/Â (Thatâs assuming you have AL, which Iâm pretty sure you have. :) )
penig replied to your photoset âIn which iCad disguises edges of the world successfully and...â
Could you pile some upside down clouds there, for fog?
Well. you canât place cloud boxes upside-down, but they can be placed underwater, where the terrain is lowest. Perhaps I can finagle it so that the clouds generate and sit just on top of the water. Only problem is my game doesnât seem to like me modifying the terrain at the edges of the world; it tends to crash. But if I canât find the sky globes olivesims mentioned or if they donât work as Iâd want, I might give that a try, yes. Thanks for the idea. :)

As for sims not washing their hands after going...
Sorry, replying to a reblog addition cuts off most of what you said. :) For readers: simblrcorner pointed out that Sims washing their hands after using the toilet replenishes the bit of hygiene loss they get from using a toilet. Which is true. So, yeah, itâs not entirely useless, but for me...Well, my Sims tend to live scheduled lives. They shower/bathe every day either when they get up or before they go to bed and this gets them through a normal day without needing to bathe again (Unless theyâve done something like going jogging or visiting the gym, after which they need a shower, but thatâs to be expected), no matter how many times they use the toilet. So...Yeah, still not seeing a need for my Sims to wash their hands. I do like realism in my game, yes, but Iâm also pragmatic about things. If something doesnât have a tangible purpose like increasing skills or markedly replenishing a motive or maintaining relationships or improving their crafting or something really useful like that, then Iâd rather my Sims be doing something that DOES do one of those things. :) Hand-washing just doesnât qualify, for my purposes.

nyshabrokeit replied to your post âhiya! where do you find patterns for your cc? i know a lot of simblrs...â
It's definitely better to use ColourLovers and BackgroundLabs since they expressly allow reuse of their stuff for non-commercial purposes; Spoonflower's stuff is all rights reserved so it's illegal to use, though no-one really cares. (Whenever a site doesn't say "You can use this stuff!" it is all rights reserved, whether or not there's a copyright notice on the website)
Oh, thatâs good to know! Iâll use patterns from these sites from now!
