It was a cycle with seemingly no end in sight. You and Jamie would get into a fight over something stupid, usually when one of you was in a particularly bad mood. You’d break up, spend a couple weeks apart looking for a rebound. Then, one of you would call the other and you’d make up, mind-blowing sex and all. 

Three weeks ago, you’d picked a fight over Jamie leaving his dishes in the sink after a long day at work. He’d stormed out after you told him he could shove his excuse up his ass and when he slammed the door behind him, something felt different. You were convinced that this may really have been the final straw, your last chance with the person you loved more than anyone. So, to say that you were shocked to be seeing Jamies name flash across your phone right now was an understatement. You pick up quickly, not wanting him to have time to change his mind. “Jame?” You almost don’t recognize your voice, too quiet and small to be the person who said such crude things in anger. His relieved sigh comes through the other end and your body warms. 

“Hi, baby. Can I come over to apologize? I wanna come home to you.” The tears are flowing freely now, and your heart swells at the thought of him sad and alone in his apartment.
