“i need to go shopping or take eighty selfies ?? or should i take selfies while shopping ??” holding up her phone and credit card with an excited smile, “do you wanna come ??” wiggling her eyebrows with an enticing expression.  

“dad! oh my gosh --- what i talk about with mona is nothing you wanna hear about,” she said into her phone. “what guy? ...no! god, no --- i’m not having this conversation with you. with mona, yes. you? no. listen, i just got off work so i’m gonna head back home in a little bit. i’ll call later tonight or tomorrow, and i’ll call angela and i’ll talk to jonathan... yeah. i know. i love you too, daddy...” sam let out a small breath as she ended the call, pushing her hair out of her face. “he’s intrusive --- but i miss him more than anything,” she said with a small smile, staring down at her home screen, which was a picture of her and her dad from a trip back in fairfield a few weeks ago.
