From xXx || @howtodisassembleyourdeviant : human!Connor
Connor took a sip of his fourth cup of coffee, listening to the android drone on about ‘integrating’ and ‘social norms’, wondering if they had any idea just who Hank was being partnered with when they assigned him to the police force. The fact that Connor actually enjoyed his jokes is proof to him that Hank probably would not integrate well with other humans.
“I hate to break it to you, but most humans find ‘dad jokes’ to be annoying,” Connor says, setting his cup of coffee down, “They are very much under-appreciated.” His dad used to tell him bad jokes like that. They remind Connor of him. The human laughs loudly at the next one, turning a few heads. If he wasn’t careful, he was going to give himself away and Fowler will send him home, “I’ve never heard that one before. I got to remember it.” He’s sure Chris will appreciate it.
[ 🔷 ] Hank watched Connor as he spoke, raising his eyebrows at the mention that most humans didn't like "dad jokes". Interesting to hear him say that, because the statistic based on number of views for videos of such jokes would lend that quite a few humans did find them funny. Or, found some interest in watching them at the very least.
"Most people need not worry--I assume those who do not appreciate them would not have asked me to tell any in the first place." He was glad, however, that Connor found enough humor in it to chuckle, rather than having a negative reaction it it. "You seem to enjoy them well enough, though, so its not a loss, right?"
