After Johan sent the first letter on the 15th of April 1920, Elfriede and Johan must have met again in Ängelholm. ✉️Because the second letter I have is also from Johan. This time thanking Elfriede for last Sunday evening. Unfortunately he states he won’t have any time to see her during the coming week, and what the next Sunday will bring, he doesn’t know. He ends the letter telling her he will let her know when he is free, and that “Fate can surely bring their steps together in the streets.” And for her to please write back! 👣   📬 Elfriede must have written Johan back as soon as she got his letter, as both letters are dated on the 22nd of April 1920. 📝 "Thank you so much for your lines from the 22nd, It's so great to hear from you. Of course, it's such a pity you're on the night shift so horribly often. I go for a walk almost daily with my little charge, mostly from 11-12 noon. Only yesterday, I passed your apartment on my way after(or to) the Västra Promenaden, along the water. Unfortunately, we weren't fated to meet.
