It's finished! Signed and erything. I still have to seal it with acrylic spray which I've chosen instead of running the risk of brushing something into it with varnish. I am tickled pink with my first large scale painting! Im also happy with how the tree branches came out because they've always vexed me. Almost finished. This is the photo I drew from. I took the photo a few years ago and always loved it. There are trees overhead and a lot of shadows I'm not sure I want to add. I have a little more maintenance until I declare myself done otherwise. I need honest opinions from my artist friends. Yes I know proportions are slightly off. It's my first time with a big piece. Progress. Ignore the splotches and blotches etc. This is not finished but I hope to have it done this week. I've got more to do but my furnace needs to be fixed today so I need to be there for the furnace guys. I'm pleased with how it's coming along though. Nowhere close to done with this as you can see. This painting is from my original picture of the Old Fort House Museum taken a few holiday seasons ago. It is going to be part of a large project I'm doing. And by large I mean size. I am doing two 12 x 36 ft murals with four paintings each as insets. These painting and the murals are the largest works I've ever painted and it is a daunting task even though I love it. I can't spend very long hunched over the canvas because it makes me stiff so I've been doing it in little bites. I'm excited to see that it even resembles the museum. Another shout out to a friend who helped me translate the dimensions of my picture to the canvas. I would be lost without your help.
