🇺🇸We love this picture of Beit Beirut, aka the Yellow House, taken by @amanyabisemaan. :):) “Beit beirut” was built in 1924, and was also known as “The Barakat House”. Before the war, it was home to middle-class families. When the war started, snipers moved in due to its strategic location. The place was abandoned after the war. It has recently been restored by architect Youssef Haidar and is now a museum dedicated to the memory of the the civil war. #letsnotforget ---- . .🇫🇷 On adooooooore cette photo de Beit Beirut aka la Maison Jaune prise par @amanyabisemaan !!!!! Pour rappel, le lieu aussi appelé immeuble Barakat (oui il a eu beaucoup de noms!) a été construit en 1924. Des familles de toutes communautés y habitaient avant que la guerre n’éclate et que les lieux soient occupés par les francs-tireurs. L’endroit a été restauré par l’architecte Youssef Haidar pour être transformé en Beit Beirut, un lieu qui se veut un musée de la mémoire de la guerre.
