Only to find,

We do get a bit passionate about drinks here at bath & bottle. Perhaps a little too passionate. Perhaps we've been spoilt, but we know class when we taste it and we won't allow just any old Smart Price spirit up onto the hallowed bath & bottle shelves. We await the arrival of a new bottle of liqueur or keg of beer with excitement - each one must be tasted and tested (it really is a tough job sometimes, this bar-tending lark) and put through its steps with the Dragons Den-esque bath & bottle team.

And then something so simple lands in front of us and blows us away. 

This, ladies and gentlemen, is Old Jake Fiery Ginger Beer. (I recommend you listen to THIS whilst you read the next bit and pretend you're on the beach with water lapping at your feet)

This little beauty was brought to us yesterday by one of our suppliers. Alcoholic Ginger Beer isn't exactly a new concept, but we've never been a fan of the synthetic taste that they tend to have, plus we've always got confused by the massive bottles it comes in - should you drink it all quickly, or should it last you all night? Over ice in a glass or swig from the bottle? By the time you've finished drinking it, it's warm - or you've got it mixed up with the others on your table and get left with the sad empty dregs while someone else eagerly pours your half full bottle into their glass, and you have to head up to the bar AGAIN.  The lovely people at Old Jake have come up with a wonder product. Crisp, refreshing and spicy alcoholic ginger beer in a 330ml tin. Made with Jamaican Pure Root Ginger, it has an amazing fiery kick that works perfectly when served ice cold and had us shouting 'More! More!' and squabbling over the last drop our one single taster tin.
