Announced during May's National Computer Conference and released in November of 1980, the Apple lll (also called the Sara or the Apple 3) was released as an improvement of the Apple ll line. It had twice as much memory and ran twice as fast! This, however, doesn't mean it sold well. Due to problems with their (lack of) fans that led to overheating, and their real-time clock failing continuously, it didn't sell as well as Apple would've hoped. And while it did sell relatively okay, it's been kind of lost in obscurity for a while now.
