#old apples

Um. I got these Sugarbee apples a while ago. I don't remember when exactly, but it was not super recently. Yep. This is an old apple. The skin is getting a little wrinkly.

It's still crisp! Quite crisp. And very juicy!

The flavor is quite mild. Sweet, but not very strong. I wonder if that is due to age. Weak, but not bad flavor. No tart at all though. I like some tart sometimes.

Overall, pretty good for an old apple.

Very apple shaped. Looks ok. Nice and red.

Um. These are old. I actually threw one away because it looked too old (wrinkly).

This one looks reasonably still good. Small, but quite red.

Oh no. Oh, no no no. Where's the sweetness? It's all gone? Has it all aged out?

The texture is fine, not great. Juice levels are adequate. But the flavor is bad. Not so bad that I'll quit eating it, but not sweet. And not good.

Uh oh. I've ignored these apples while eating through my bag of orchard fresh Jonagold apples. Um. This apple looks old. It's wrinkled. It feels a little soft. Eep.

Oh, it's still crisp! The flavor has gone gross though. It's bitter.

Ok, the redder part of the apple is a bit sweeter.

Bleh.

I think I forgot to pay yesterday's review. I totally spaced. Anyway, I got more honeycrisps even though I still have itty bitty baby apples left. They were on sale and I wanted them.

It was pretty good. Not perfectly crisp. Huh. surprising. Maybe it was old, which also might explain the sale price.
