OKO TYGRA - Glass Jaw
Jorge Elbrecht of Violens, who has just come off collaborating on Tamaryn’s Cranekiss, tweeted he’s working with OKO TYGRA, a band I feel like I should already know. Based on the sound of this single from last year, he is probably the least surprising choice. They obviously share a fondness for 80s/90s dream pop. Oddly, with the all reverb drenched guitars, this track sounds more like The Fixx, while their other track Plasticine has echoes of The Lotus Eaters. Either way, based on Elbrecht’s track record, this will be a project worth watching.

Glass Jaw 7" is a trip into the unseen. A place that can not be fully explained with words. Rather than breaking from tradition and departing on a solo trip in a box, Joshua Novak utilizes a four piece moniker 'OKO TYGRA' to combine electro-dream pop sounds with lush guitars and steady 80s bass harkening back to the chorus heavy lines of The Cure or Depeche Mode.
