FAREWELL, PAUL FORTUNE, INTERIORS GURU !
This week we said goodbye to a true California great, interior designer Paul Fortune, who passed away on Monday, June 15. He was a favorite of the fashion and society sets, designing their sprawling homes (Mick Jagger, Sofia Coppola, Marc Jacobs...) in Bel Air, San Francisco, Paris, New York with his signature style.
Paul was the mind behind such institutions as the Fake Club (a Hollywood “it” scene in the 1980s) and the new look of Tower Bar at the Sunset Tower Hotel, helping to revive the Sunset Boulevard property into arguably L.A.’s most stylish address.

The comic specifically was like, a proof of concept thing, because in this world there’s this huge machine-god mech called Unity of which Ava is the pilot, and also the world they live on is this big cyberpunk-future-solar-city thing and Sora and friends are all mercs living their best space pirate lives, but Things Occur. As they often do in stories. And Sora needs to go talk to Ava
But like the thing is Unity is a sentient being and at this point, being the pilot for so long, Ava is basically just a mouthpiece, and Unity hardly ever talks, but when it DOES, everyone it’s inundated as One Of It (haha ventus! fun backstory elements) are literally just extensions of its mouth/will, so they all just say what it says. And if it ever moved, they would move in tandem (in a hivemind way, not in a direct step-to-step way bc that would undermine its efforts). So the comic is basically just Ventus gets to be 113.7 Unity Radio while sora talks to a god
