Short Full bio:
Why would anyone want to run away from a life filled with anything one could possibly want? Jackson Whittemore asked himself this a lot over the years and came to a conclusion at the beginning of senior year â because it wasnât filled with anythingHE wanted.Â
Everything was done for the sake of his parents and being their prized child. Outstanding grades, best on the sports teams, always on his best behavior at any function he was forced to attend. Jackson had always been a puppet of sorts with strings being pulled. Always in some form of a spotlight and he was over it. His life has never been lived for himself and perhaps his terrible attitude towards others can find blame in the situation heâs been trapped in. Held prisoner by his own parents with promises of outlandish rewards the teen doesnât need if he appeases them. It took years of growing up to understand he never really was his own person.
Two weeks into senior year is when Jackson began to smoke. His parents never noticed and it helped relax him. A win / win. That was when he began to fight his dad on college and which one he wanted to attend. It took some time â but the teen had reached a state of rebellion within the household. His parents acted like they had no idea who he was and truthfully, they never really did. Jackson has done nothing but play a role they shoved him into. Itâs not long before the accusation of drugs is thrown in and while itâs truthfully denied â it sets gears into motion. Not long before the teen finds himself hunting down a one Scott McCall behind the bleachers, skipping a class in the process.Â
That was the first time Jackson got high and he loved it. Heâd never felt so calm and as if nothing else mattered â and if he finally crossed the line of kissing a boy well, heâll keep that to himself. He never did go much near McCall after that but he certainly continued to get high in his own hiding places. Senior year was for doing things his way for a change. Threats of things being taken from him, having to ride the bus â as if popularity means much to him these days. But grades remain steady and when graduation rolls around, heâs out of the house and out of the state. Itâs a good couple of weeks (maybe a month or two) on a bender of parties and poor life choices (at least they were his own) before Jackson shows up in town again.
But he doesnât head home. No â Jackson finds himself looking for the familiar face of Scott to be a part of something and get a chance to really live in the moments. Heâs got no real idea what heâs doing or walking into but thatâs the best part in his opinion.
