   charlie’s bedside manner was often lacking at the best of times, but her general bad temper won out over most things. the EERIE calm of the time capsule was playing on her nerves even further. finally, however, the bullet was retrieved and dropped into a tray held by charlie’s daughter, who seemed more interested than distressed by the scene.

“i’m sure i don’t know what you’re talking about, doctor.”  coy smirk, glint in her light eyes, river’s tone of voice implies a faux innocence anyone who knows her --and the doctor does know her-- should pick up on with ease. the doctor lies, and so does his wife. river loves a challenge, and she loves nothing more than antagonising the doctor.  “i had nothing to do with this  --  scout’s honour.”

              The city was a very busy one, which worked out well for Lily. She wasn’t exactly ‘wanted’, but technically there was a bounty put on her head by a local group that Lily may or may not have stolen from. To make matters worse, she was trying to navigate her way through the city with the Doctor of all people at her side.

              Ever since Lily left the TARDIS, she tried her best to avoid the Time Lord at all costs, but the universe turned out to be a lot smaller than she imagined. And of course the Doctor insisted on helping her as soon as he discovered that she was in trouble. And so there she was, in the middle of a busy intergalactic city, with the Doctor lecturing on about reckless and irresponsible she had been. 

              “Dammit–” Lily muttered as she came to an abrupt stop, putting an arm out to stop the Doctor too. The group of blue aliens that were looking for Lily were a few yards away, but they were heading in their direction. “They’re coming this way.”

               She adjusted her hood, making her hair was concealed before she looked to the Doctor in a panic. The aliens hadn’t noticed them yet, but it was only a matter of time before they did. Without thinking, Lily grabbed the Doctor by the lapels of his jacket and pushed him up against the wall of the building next to them. She gave no warning before crashing her lips to his, getting very into the moment very quickly. After several moments, she broke the kiss but didn’t turn away just yet. 

                                “Are they gone?”
