My friend at camp was obsessed with them in like 7th/8th grade and she tried to teach herself German it was like those kids who are obsessed with anime and curse you off in Japanese
Oh, I was that kid. Scheiße all over the gaff. Glad my Mum never let me drop French in favour of it, I'm taking French, Spanish and Portuguese in uni now..but it seems like languages have always been a bit of a thing. Some of my friends who were really into Tokio Hotel back in the day are now obsessed with the K-Pop thing so maybe it attracted a type, haha.

I dunno at least my friend was really into them, although a lot of people made fun of them rather than liking them because that one dude was super feminine
I suppose that was kind of the same, but at the time those guyliner bands were massive here - MCR were the kind of band that got number 1s and sold out massive venues. I remember I went through my AFI phase at the same time and my best friend was like "...I am never going to see either of those bands with you, they are terrifying," despite the fact that they had the least offensive music in existence. Idk I have a soft spot for Tokio Hotel - I remember them playing 'World Behind My Wall' at the VMAs in Berlin on the 20th anniversary of the fall of the wall and it was really pretty and symbolic and all that shit, even though the chances of them remembering it are slim to nil. But yeah A+ to Bill Kaulitz on the growing up, he still has cheekbones for miles but at least he doesn't look like a 12 year old girl anymore.
