瀨戶內海的男木島，從港口下船順著逐漸登高的石子路往上走、兩側都是島上民家，爬著爬到制高處有間可能有名也說不定的咖啡店，但沒舉辦藝術季時島上不知道還有沒有觀光客，沒有觀光客時會不會經營起來很辛苦？邊回憶邊自己問著。但這裡是男木島圖書館。
是圖書館喔！邊寫邊在心裡面強調著。沒有藝術季的日子裡平平淡淡安安靜靜的島居生活，在那樣的世界裡島上的人兒也不會費心去找什麼網美咖啡，或許慵懶享受海風輕撫的夏日午睡，也或許努力騁起烈陽與浪在生活中忙碌著，又或、在淳淳琴聲間洄游在書海裡；啊！如果再來杯冰咖啡就更棒了。島的圖書館，搖身一變。
想起村上春樹書中紀錄下的島、希臘的島。當島上觀光客都回去時，留下的靜謐與悠閒。
