Taxi ride: More fun in the Philippines
Weaving. That is the best adjective that you can use to describe his driving style as he zooms in and out, left and right, moving from 0 to 40, to 60 and back to 0 in speed just to make the cut.
His opponents ranged from simple sedans to multiple buses boxing him out. I couldn't count the number of expletives he muttered as well as traffic violations he committed including
consistently using the yellow lane (that's reserved for buses), insane swerving maneuvers, and what can only be described as "that asshole" cuts just to get past through the crazy traffic of EDSA.
I was actually having an internal monologue as this was happening regarding the behavioral tendencies of Filipino taxi drivers in regards to traffic dynamics and its political and pecking organization when I saw this:
By this time I started to review my life and wondered if I have done everything in my power already, pushing my self to the limits, and making sure every moment and effort counts.
If I go now, would everything that I have done be enough? will I be satisfied with how far I have gone? Will this be the end of every day extra challenge that has become my routine?
and then before I know it, I was already in UP College of Business Administration and the taxi meter was reading approximately 250PHP. I paid the driver and included an additional 50PHP tip for letting me keep my life.
I guess my friends... the show must go on.
