the kuroi medals for arachnus/toadal are so good hold on guys let me be annoying abt them for a second. theyre both insanely cool references and I wish they took this route with more of the kuroi medals or the medals of classic yokai in general
Toadal's medal is a reference to Utagawa Kuniyoshi's ~c. 1826 print of Tenjiku Tokubei (a kabuki character who rode a giant toad mount)
And Arachnus's is based on the 14th-century Tsuchigumo no SΕshi Emaki (the scene where Yorimitsu kills the Tsuchigumo) (which used to be my header. if you remember The Olden Days)
