The castle was quiet in the early morning, candle flames flickering light just brighter than the sun pouring in from the windows. This was one of Salazar’s favourite moments, being awake before many even cared to stir. The ghostly coolness of an empty corridor that was indeed his awed him. Of course, the castle wasn’t his, exactly, but no one was going to tell him that to his face.
After a detour to the kitchens Salazar found himself standing behind Rowena’s door. It wasn’t an unusual place for him to pace, going back and forth on whether he should actually knock, or simply leave the tray of tea anonymously. He wondered if she knew it was him who’d done this multiple times and said nothing due to his precious ego. A smile rose to his sleepy face as he knocked on her door, hoping she was awake. He needed some way to apologize for being such an utter twat to her recently without actually apologizing.
