nope

because one time i made a post about how i felt there were a lot of people who were following me who actually knew nothing of my blog and didn't really care about it

and i wasn't being down on myself, i was just stating a fact because this is true it happens a lot on tumblr

i was really commenting on how tumblr works sometimes

and people took this as a cue to send me compliments and messages about how much they love my blog

which was really sweet and nice and wow i really appreciated it

but like

it was so weird because all of a sudden i had to be worried that people were thinking i was fishing for compliments

this is something that's really fucked up about society sometimes

it's like, if you are feeling down on yourself, or you are just acknowledging something negative, not even really in a self deprecating way, and you express it, people either think you are fishing for compliments or feel they have to rush to reassure you

and it's nice if the reassurance is genuine

but sometimes people just say that stuff because they are worried you are gonna explode or something because you are acknowledging that you probably should exercise more or whatever the case may be

idk, people should be vigilant about letting people know they care

at all times really

but seriously

people need to learn the difference between attention seeking and people literally just trying to tell it like they see it or feel it

just

stop trying to presume like you know why a person does what they do

get to know them

don't fucking jump to conclusions

and don't try to read between the lines to see something that isn't there
