“Ah --- I’m sorry.” She straightens her back, pushing hair back from her face. TRAINING; she’s slick with sweat, and she nods at her sparring partner and he departs. “Did you need something of me, Warden?”
❝ I don’t like this forest, I don’t like that talking tree, and I don’t like all these damn werewolves. Are we really going to go hunting for MORE of them because some arse said to?❞

The fires are still rising from Ostagar when she leaves the Korcari Wilds, Flemeth’s hut left behind her as she threads ahead. The other woman’s advice echoes in her mind - ‘this is not your war to fight, your role is but little if there is even any for you to claim’ - but her feet still trudge forwards, towards Lothering, towards humanity. She knows who the other is - oh they both claim to be ignorant of each other’s nature, both acting their role as if the world can ever allow them to be just a mad woman in a hut in the woods and just a Seer from Rivain - both completely aware how paper thin their lies are, how easy to see through - but even if she knows if matters little.
She is curious. She had fought in a Blight once, had offered magic and energy and blood to stave the encompassing darkness, had bleed alongside wardens and soldiers alike. She had almost died and claimed it not worthy, not her life for a world not hers, not her chance to see one day Elvhenan restored for a darkness brought forth by Tevinter. She had vowed to keep away, and yet her feet led her onward, towards Lothering, towards the last two remaining wardens in Ferelden. Flemeth held faith in their victory, but Ashabelas knew victory was claimed by numbers and blood and death. Not by sheer will and determination. They needed help to gather those numbers and if her aid would be received, she had no right not to offer it. Not now; not when defeat was much too easily achieved and victory but a fable to tell the scared babes in the villages quivering in fright.
