Groot freezes when he realizes who it is that has come into his shop. Peter. The sight of him causes a flood of emotions that has Groot rooted to the spot. Happiness. Shame. Sorrow. Excitement. Itâs all a little overwhelming.
When he finally does move, he rushes forward. Hands wrap around Peterâs shoulders to pull him up off his feet and hold him in the air. A wide smile stretches across his face - the joy at seeing his friend again obvious - before he pulls Peter in to hug him against his chest.
âI am Groot!â âPeter! It is so good to see you again! I have missed you, and everyone else! How is everyone else? Are they good? I hope they are good. How have you been, my friend? Are you good? You look like you are well.

When Gamora enters the ship, she doesnât expect to hear someone at the controls, going through the steps to start up the ship, searching for coordinates. And theyâre talking to themselves - the voice is familiar, most likely too familiar by now. Wherever Peterâs planning on going, considering the news Gamora just heard, it canât be good.
Stepping up to the front of the ship, Gamora sets a hand on her hip and lets out a soft sigh at the sight of him looking through the navigation for a destination. Itâs hard to choose a destination when youâre running away, though. âPeter.â Her voice is unusually soft - steady, but not quite as harsh as she steps over to him. âWhere exactly are you going?â
Somehow it doesnât matter that Peter gave her a warning about Terran alcohol - Gamora managed to forget all about it tonight. Sheâd had one drink, and another, and another, and if this was any other system she wouldnât have a problem. But  she doesnât come to Terra all that often - sheâs not used to their drinks, and as much as her enhancements give her a helping hand... well, by the time she leaves sheâs practically wobbling her way back to the Milano.
She makes it back safely enough, her cheeks a little darker in hue than usual, and it takes her a little longer to find her way inside than it normally would - Rocket probably moved the controls to the entrance, that damn asshole, always trying to mess with her. Everything has a strange, warm glow through her eyes, an uncharacteristic grin on her face as she heads inside to find Peter still awake. âAw, did you wait up for me?â She laughs as she leans against the wall of the ship, leaning down to pull her boots off and barely managing to catch herself with a surprised whoops! âYou know I can take care of myself, Star-boy.â
