There was something about kneeling that’d never quite appealed to him, for several different reasons. For one thing it was a symbol of giving oneself to someone else and he made it a point gave himself to no-one, but more immediately than that? It hurt. Physically, it hurt; enough cold nights spent roughhousing around and sleeping in less than ideal locations had done a number on his joints, and his knees ( the right one in particular ) simply did not take kindly to the pressure. The throbbing ache ebbing up through his thigh as he opened panels beneath the Camphrier Pokémon Centre’s PC to fiddle with wires and bolts acted as an ever-present reminder to the computer technician that he simply wasn’t quite as flexible as he’d used to be.
Of course, this cumulated into a lot of cursing under his breath as he irritably gestured for his Gourgeist to hand him a different screwdriver.
