A pair of heavy boots and much smaller, poorly clad feet echoed the corridor with their careful, slow steps. As promised, Xander had taken no time at all returning but with him, holding his hand, was a bewildered child. The very same one that almost lost the right to live over stealing a loaf of bread. “...We’re almost there, just a little further.” He was trying not to drag the poor kid, but the exhaustion of running so much away from the prince made it painfully obvious that walking was a challenge. Almost right on cue, the child stumbled and almost immediately Xander halted. Weariness and anxiousness never made a good combination. The kid had started to utter an apology when the Nohrian prince crouched down and scooped the child up, much to the younger’s evident surprise. It was almost disturbing how light they were... One round of a corner and a ways down later, Xander slowed before a familiar door, grasping the knob of it to twist and nudge the door open. Hopefully, his blade had listened and stayed put.
