the last time he encountered wanda maximoff, it had been in genosha and it wasn’t exactly the warmest of greetings. granted, it was in the middle of a battle and he was wary of everyone he didn’t know or haven’t met yet. and in his defense, all he asked was if she was friendly and when she said she was, he had left her alone. but he’s heard of what she can do and he’s also heard who she’s allied to. “not exactly afraid of you, miss maximoff,” he started, “but i hope you don’t take my being worried the wrong way.” besides, it’s not her powers he was concerned about—it was her father that he was mostly wary of. emma frost has told him enough for him to be careful.

cindy was confused. she didn’t know what wanda was talking about considering she wasn’t holding or touching anything, and the other woman was out there to put it back. “put what back?,” she asked, confused and patted her jeans to check if she mistakenly took anything. she didn’t. “are you okay? i’m not holding anything.” a beat or two passed. “wanda?”

“Shh, stop, don’t be scared. I don’t want to hurt you, I promise.”

“Yeah, that’s only the scariest freaking thing you could say,” Bobby remarked. Things around the compound and New York, in general, had been weird, but having Wanda come to him and say that was currently the icing on the cake as they say. Bobby backed up, and shifted in place, not wanting to say more, but utterly freaked by what Wanda had said to him. “Why would you hurt me? I don’t understand what’s going on. And I’m totally freaked out. And you are not helping me calm down by saying that.”

matt was steadily getting pissed off at the ice and water. it was the best thing he could do in the current situation and the best thing he could be involved in because volcanic eruptions were definitely out of his forte and he’s not dealing with ghost mutants if he could help it. so ice and water it was. he’d just dodged another when he felt another presence near him. a woman, if he was correct in his assumptions. and she was thrumming in power. “are you friendly?,” he asked as he hit more ice with his billy club.
