It's half a lie. South mostly brings it up out of curiosity. He can't help it when he knows so little about what happened. So often his clients are more than happy to vent about the reason they hired him. He doesn't usually ask questions, most people's motives are the same. He's sent to kill some cheating ex or some rival gang member or something. People so easily volunteer the details out of anger, or hoping he'll sympathize. This job is different. Estelle is different. She offers so little, and for once he wants to know.
