Oswald had felt it creeping up again... the doubt. The fear; and every mistake he’d ever made, followed by horrendously heavy guilt that was practically suffocating him.

She didn’t know what had happened, the exact detail of the destruction of his home, the deaths of all his friends, and his family. How it was all his fault. That he’d let his emotions from grief and his past, losing his father and everything, get the better of him until he became nothing but a monster. If she knew, she’d leave, he had no doubt in his mind. And... deep down, he wanted reassurance that she wouldn’t go. He’d already been left behind by his father ages ago, the last thing he needed was for her to walk out on him too.

Even if he could understand why, and wouldn’t blame her if she did.

“I-I just mean... uh... that... if I told you what... really happened...”

If telling her the truth got that horrible weight off his chest, then so be it. He just needed to know.

Those were never words you wanted to hear. Blaze coughed a little. Whatever had happened hadn’t been good. Dust hung in the air now and her vision was hazy by the clouds of dust that had yet to settle. Even for a Princess such as herself she could be involved in danger. It seemed this was such a danger? Perhaps an attack? It was hard to say. She felt fine though. A little cut or two on her body but nothing that bad.

Her golden eyes searched for the voice and saw the figure of a penguin women. Had it been fonder circumstances, she would of taken the time to notice the beautiful penguin as someone she had met briefly. however, in the situation of dust and shock the feline had only heard her voice and knew what her duty was.

The muscles in her legs felt weak. She staggered. Her weight felt off centre. She swayed a little but by pushing on through sheer will she made her way to the other. Her eyes looked for injuries but with little medical knowledge, she wasn’t sure if this penguin had suffered anything serious or was just in a state of shock that rendered her unable to move.

“I-i.... I’m going to get you out of here.” Blaze said to her, taking a deep breath. It was at this point she noticed she was panting, as if the air,, was more dust than it was oxygen.

Taking whatever spare strength she had within her, she picked up the penguin in a bridal style manner and pushed on towards the exit where the light seem to shine from.
