Katherine put her cello case down, and Kilgrave glanced at it. She really was a girl of many talents. It had been a while since he'd heard live music. If she was any good, perhaps he could get her to play something for him. He didn’t answer her question, but turned to look at the boy, who had stepped back. The boy looked uncomfortable, and Katherine told him to go. That was out of line.
Perhaps it was because she had given an order, or maybe it was because he was just bored, but Kilgrave said, “Stop.” The teenager froze in his tracks. Something about him immediately rubbed Kilgrave up the wrong way. He looked at Katherine. “Why did you tell him to leave?” he asked. “Tell the truth now.” He had a feeling it because she didn’t want her boyfriend to speak to him, and he didn’t like that. Whatever her reasoning was, she would have to tell him why honestly. He folded his arms and waited.
