Ohhhh she was most assuredly nervous for the entire affair, but this wasn’t about her...this was to be the most momentous day in the funeral director’s life after all - she wasn’t going to allow her own anxiety upset that for her; though she did have some concerns, of course; after all, the event wasn’t that long from now...it felt a bit last minute to get fitted for a dress.

“W-will there be enough time, Miss Hu Tao? I mean, somehow I don’t feel like my Wangsheng uniform would be appropriate, and between the funeral and wedding flowers, I’m wondering if there will be enough to allot for a seamstress.”

“Look like one and would like to be railed like one.”

        ❝    um   ...   excuse   me,   m’am   ?   ❞

      the   bard   had   been   roaming   for   ...   who   knows   how   long   ?   he   had   simply   allowed   his   legs   to   carry   him   from   one   little   settlement   to   the   next.   so   you’d   be   surprised   when   he   found   himself   in   a   rather   ...   spooky   looking   area,   with   only   the   other   as   the   nearest   living   soul   around.  

Hu Tao: thank you for your patronage :)) I will burn the corpse for you at no extra cost :)))) I needed fertilizer anyway-

“Thank you, dear. Your next few months of visits in the pharmacy should you need my assistance will be free.”

@offirebutterflies​ asked: Cue a loud squeal as the funeral director rushes toward Arashi, tackling her in a hug!!! Someone is hyperactive today... Hu Tao nuzzles against her chest before peering up at her. "Heehee~! Do you know what daaaaay it is??? Also, give me a kiss, pleeeeeeease!!!"

arashi braces herself the moment she hears the familiar squeal of delight, grinning widely and opening her arms as hu tao comes running into view. what perfect timing! she was just on her way to visit the funeral director since she’d just arrived in the harbor but a few minutes ago, and this just saves her the trouble of tracking her down! not that it would have actually been any trouble, of course, because anything and everything is worth it when it comes to hu tao― but this is certainly the easier option. even if it does end with arashi knocked flat on her ass and the wind knocked out of her. still, her arms wrap around hu tao in kind when she recovers, a hearty laugh escaping her as she presses light little kisses to the top of her head.

❝my my, did you wake up like this or have you already gotten yourself into a sugar rush with the treats i’m sure people have given you already~? after all, as i recall, today is someone’s birthday~❞ and that’s precisely why arashi made sure to get jean to let her off these next few days weeks in advance, just so she could spend the week in liyue with her girlfriend. which thankfully worked out, even if she had to spend countless days getting plenty of work done in advance to accommodate for her upcoming absence, and it was well worth it.

a week of no worries, just her, hu tao, and who- and whatever could be found here in liyue. a perfect little vacation, if you ask arashi. 

but, turning her attention back to the present, the knight gently grasps hu tao’s chin between her index finger and thumb, her grin melting into a soft smile. ❝oh my sweet phoenix, you need not ask for such a thing~ kisses are just one of the many gifts i have planned for you, you know?❞ and of course she obliges, meeting her lips in a soft and tender kiss that makes even arashi sigh happily. how long has it been since they last got to visit each other? well, it doesn’t matter― either way, the answer is too long, because even a day of separation is too much by arashi’s standards. but they’re here now, and that’s all that really matters, she reminds herself as she pulls away from the kiss.
