David retired from the army not long after his first wife has passed. He wasn't so effective in his job anymore himself - The seriousness and a certain sort of trauma of a soldier's life getting on him - Losing his loved not making it any easier. The man chose to leave and spend more time with his kids - Family being more important - His pension not being so low anyway. And his help soon was needed - Rafael becoming sick and having to help out his mother at home.

Today was relatively calm - David taking his time by sitting on the couch, some nature-based TV-show playing on the screen at low volume. He was watching his daughter - Drawing something on a piece of paper with colorful crayons. He often wondered if it affected Mariana too bad ---- Losing her mother. Must have.

There was always a touch of a pain when she saw youngsters surviving the world around them. Lisa wasn’t sure how she’d found her way to this place, but she held a silent pity for the kid and it showed when she offered her a friendly, motherly smile and offered her something she rarely offered others.

     She didn't want to sound so bitter, but she couldn't help the tone      that slipped into her voice. It felt like they argued more than      they actually talked, Mari couldn't help but feel a little angry      about it, too. At least she still had her sister. With a quick      somewhat tight-lipped smile thrown her way, Mari walked ahead      to get away from the van. 

That looked pretty shitty, like a bird getting caught and scrambling in a panic for a bid for freedom... only to end up worse than before. A quick glance over her shoulder for any si- gn of the dead and she knelt down b -eside Mary, hand’s carefully comi- ng to the entwined ankle.
