But i need to know how max is apart of the supernatural world and why time stopped when he touched hands with daniel.

Soooo I don’t recall what I had been thinking about this au and I didn’t leave myself notes. So I scribbled something just now
Max looks from Grace’s kind face to Daniel’s excited one. Mindlessly, Max takes a sip of his tea, not paying attention to the taste. He was a witch or something? Daniel made the world freeze around them. Grace changed a mug of hot tea into a glass of cold tea.
Max felt like he’s taking this pretty well.
“So I’m a witch too?” He asks.
“Maybe.” Grace says with a shrug.
“Maybe??” Max is confused.
“Maybe you’re a witch. Maybe you’re a shapeshifter. Maybe you’re an elemental, a faerie, a necromancer. We aren’t quite sure. The only thing we do know is that you’re not fully human.”
Max felt the bombshell like a weight in his belly.
“How do you know?” He whispers, worriedly.
“You didn’t freeze when everything else did.” Daniel pointed out and Max swings to look at him. “My power is new and it kinda just exploded out of me when we bumped into each other. But unlike all the other humans, you didn’t freeze in place. That means you’re magical in some capacity— certain types of powers won’t work on people like us.”
Max is overwhelmed and maybe Grace sends him to lie down, made the tea strong so he’d relax. Daniel is curious and drawn to him, wants to keep Max around. Wants to know everything about him. He also wants to play with his power but he doesn’t know how. Also doesn’t want to scare Max
So like of course Max is at the ricciardo house all the time now, right? He has to know. Has to learn. He also has this huge crush on Daniel. Daniel who is hot as hell, super kind and apparently knows other kinds of magic. Max just wants to learn how to do cool shit like make his spoon swirl in his cup on its own.
And then it happens, Max and Daniel are studying in the garden. Well Daniel’s laying in the grass, they’re under the shade of a flowering tree. Max is supposed to be reading and he’s too busy pining after Daniel. Crush on display. And then maybe all the flowers from the tree above them fall off the tree all at once.
Daniel freezes time out of shock and they’re surrounded by petals and Daniel is beautiful and Max wishes he’d kiss him.
And then Daniel does!
