i am getting so annoyed with the “but xyz didn’t deserve this downgrade” comments

it is not a downgrade to be switched from tachi to uchigatana, or any other sword for that matter. 

nothing about the swords in real life has changed. it’s like calling the shift from painting in a super-realistic style to Impressionism a downgrade. they’re both still beautiful works of art to be regarded in their own right.

non-tachi swords =/= shit-tier swords. 

there are many non-tachis that are classified as national treasures (cough Hirano Toushirou, Heshikiri Hasebe, Atsu Toushirou), a status that many tachis will never enjoy

and nothing about the characters has changed.

shit like this reminds me of the time that extreme fans were furious over Izumi’s (Tsurumaru Kuninaga’s artist) choice of his obi (it was a gender neutral type of knot, but could be regarded as “feminine,” which would destroy their ideal image of a dominant Tsurumaru)

they caused so much backlash against Izumi that she caved to the pressure and promised to change the design for the release of the concept art book in August

do you see how ridiculous this shit is

It's 9:52 PM.

This is Detective Luciano, and I have been sitting on my butt for over THREE HOURS. Usually that's not big deal, but actually, I'm doing the most aggravating research EVER. I can't believe this. Ten pages of this, ten pages of that, cite this, cite that, quote this, another citation over there, etc.

Somebody get me a cup of cocoa and let me lay my head to rest. This paperwork is turning me all sluggish. Bluh.
