Michael was just mad cuz Justin did in 5 years (or less if you count him falling in love by season 2) what he couldn't do in however long he knew Brian. And that Brian reciprocated the feelings Justin had for him. And I hated how he was still pining for Brian despite being in a committed relationship. Ben deserved better.

Yeah I've made a post on this before but basically Michael pined after Brian for years since they were kids. Even though Brian felt nothing but friendship for him he was still hoping and holding on that maybe one day he'd have a chance. And probably in his mind even if Brian never saw him that way he was still number 1 in Brian's life so he'd take what he could get. Along comes Justin and without even trying that much Brian fell for him hook, line and sinker, he achieved what Michael wanted for years. What's funny is that Justin called him out on this by episode 2 - everyone knew!
Ben was an angel he knew that deep down Michael would always hold a candle for Brian he even told him he understood on some level when Michael was jealous when he found out about Ben and Brian being together. In my opinion even in S5 I do believe that if Michael had a chance to be with Brian he'd take it 🤷♀️
