SO, the Other Friends AU was inspired by the song "Other Friends" from Steven Universe: The Movie.
Basically, it's a continuation of my Alt Saga AU, where Sabre left the server to start Rainbow Quest, but didn't warn anyone. Everyone thinks that he got kidnapped, was killed, or something else happened. Illusion and a few others had the idea of him leaving the server, so they came up with an idea to find him. They rebuilt the machine used to give Rainbow Steve a username and the ability to server-hop and had Illusion fuse back with Galaxy. Now being Reality, the machine was used on them and they were able to leave the server. The idea of being Reality again was suggested by Guardian and Alex, seeing as they had the most experience with leaving the server.
So, they left the world, and guess what they found? Another singleplayer world that wasn't there the last time Reality left The Steve Saga. They went in and was very surprised to find themself not disintegrating. They were even more surprised to find out that not only was Sabre and alive and well, but he was running around with new steves and didn't seem to feel a fraction of the worry about the steves back in The Steve Saga as they did towards him.
Reality quickly got ticked off, seeing that Sabre ditched them and didn't care enough to give any warning to his disappearance. Hell, Sabre had gotten MARRIED back in that world, and he didn't even warn his husband that he'd be leaving! Nor did he think it to be a good idea to at least check on the ones he abandoned.
Reality is able to stay as- well- Reality without having to deal with the pain of Galaxy fighting back since they actually TALKED and have agreed to stay like this. Galaxy wants to try to bring Sabre back, and Illusion wants to strangle him and bring his corpse back. Either way, they both needed to drag Sabre back and decided to work together to reach that goal.
