so like i kisses my best friends bf, but it was on accident, i swear! okay, so it was at the end of the day today and we were walking down the steps. he kept asking me what he should get for their anniversary and when i turned around to tell him, he kissed me! i immediately pushes him off tho. what should i do? should i tell her? or keep it between us?

oh nO that’s such a tricky situation! i know it’d be tricky, but i honestly think you should tell her. i don’t think it’s your fault, but if her boyfriend’s going around kissing other people, she deserves to know. unless it was like, an accident or something, you should tell her. ooft. so sorry that happened !!

I am sorry I’ll shut up soon but I can’t stop thinking about the harm in framing academic milestones in phd programs as “defenses”. like today I got my work ripped apart for two hours without a single compliment and had to try and fight back on every point. got told to leave the room. asked back in 5 minutes and they all said “great work you passed, start your research”. And it felt like such whiplash, like I got beaten down and then praised for it??? and like I understand critique is necessary but framing it as something you need to be able to defend yourself against creates this weird power dynamic. Idk. I hated today.
