Middle school fandoms were so intense, man…
Like seriously the Naruto fans in my school were so intense that there ended up being an anime ban in our school: no talking about Naruto, no doing the hand movements, no headbands, no nothing.
Basically what ended up happening to cause this is eventually we all got so into Naruto that during recess, headbanded villages would go against each other an we'd beat each other up, we learned how to fold little ninja stars out of paper and would throw them at one another, which soon turned into tinfoil ninja stars, and once the school realized what everyone was fighting about, there was no more Naruto in our school allowed. No apparel, no talking about it, no folding paper stars, and no having rubber bands (as they can be used as a weapon apparently.)
They sent us home with letters to the parents explaining the dilemma with students watching "violent programming" and encourage the parents to talk to us about what is and is not okay to imitate, and to this day my father still hates anime and thinks it's all just one big "anti-Christian" cult.
