for almost their whole life, nyx has had recurring dreams of a woman they never met. after their brother passed, it was like the only person left who cares about them is this mystery woman who probably doesn't even exist. in reality, she's their late grandmother and she was a horrible person (this part gets really complicated but it involves human experimentation). nyx doesn't know this however b/c their memories were suppressed when they were a child. their dreams are what they subconsciously remember of her, but they're not a true representation of who she actually was. nonetheless, nyx takes comfort in the idea of her
