A secret they know of / keep
Her childhood is basically full of secrets. Nobody knows the abuse that was happening behind closed doors. Nobody knows that Linda used to be a child idol growing up, with a different birth name. Sheβs trying really hard to erase her past but sadly, it will forever have a stain in her heart.
Supernatural occurrences
Despite her living in a universe thatβs not exactly βnormalβ, sheβs a sceptical person when it comes to the supernatural. Yes, their city has an outbreak of vampire/demon-like creatures but ghosts? Nah, they canβt exist. Her belief in βthe supernaturalβ is limited to what is known as fact in her canon universe. Her skepticism honestly can sometimes even be a negative thing, as she completely disregards the opinions of those that believe even something slightly esoteric, which can make her blind to people that might be kind and useful at their core.Β
The fact that her mother was in a cult probably really didnβt help her sceptic outlook on life in adulthood.Β
Weapon-themed headcanon
Sheβs really good at using the weapons sheβs able to create out of her own blood but if sheβs given a normal weapon, she will suddenly be much worse. Thereβs a sense of connection she has with her blood-made naginata, she can literally FEEL itβs shape and motion which is something she canβt have with a separate object.Β
So despite being able to defeat multiple enemies in a fight single-handedly, she wonβt exactly call herself a skilled fighter, sheβs just intune with her powers.
Universe-themed headcanon
Half-bloods in her universe are considered a myth by most people. There is so little evidence of them existing and the little research that was done, is locked away in well-secured facilities. Linda is absolutely terrified of becoming a lab-rat and she knows that the more people know about her powers, the bigger is the chance of her becoming one. When she joined CIDA it was a HUGE leap out of her comfort zone, because, from the outside, she always saw them as the exact thing she hated. The only reason she joined is because Ray was there and he was always the most kind-hearted and honest person she has ever known, even before they got REALLY close.
Ruby
Romance-themed headcanon
Ruby is actually not really good at βnormalβ romance stuff. She doesnβt know how to be sweet or even cheesy. She doesnβt know how to properly do things for a partner or how to flirt. Her idea of compliments and gifts is twisted and feels more creepy than romantic, truly stalker ass behaviour. She can sometimes act soft but only after making sure that her partner is completely still, exhausted, will be unable to do anything back or turn away, as if theyβre a toy.
Pain-themed headcanon
Ruby loves pain, inflicting it and receiving it. When sheβs the one inflicting pain, it makes her feel powerful and when sheβs the one receiving it, sheβs able to feel something intense enough to cleanse her hunger for adrenaline or just let go of certain emotions that donβt leave on their own.Β
Funnily enough, she doesnβt like illnesses-induced pain, like a headache from a cold or a sore throat. They make her weak and are not intense enough to bring anything other than annoyance.Β
Bad habit
Ruby is a drug-addict but she doesnβt realize it. What drug? Well, itβs hard to explain. Sheβs not addicted to a specific thing rather sheβs just addicted to substances as a whole. She will take whatever pill is offered, smoke whatever will be passed, no questions asked. Anything that is more intense than this dull life.
She mostly takes hard things that will make her feel more on edge, things that shift reality. Sheβs not much of a nicotine or alcohol person, basically.
Nsfw-headcanon
Sheβs mostly a switch. Whether she will take the lead or the other way around will mostly depend on a partner, their personality and just how physically stronger they are.
