🍕 - What is their favorite food?

ok so this is super specific and idk how well I can explain this but like. it was a thing I had a couple times when I was a kid? basically just dough cooked over a campfire using a stick (idk why not in a pan) with honey? I think he'd really like that. especially if it was something he had a lot as a kid

🎯 -What do they do best?

going to go opposite of the military angle here and say I feel like tallow is inexplicably really good with kids? I guess it comes with being raised in a big community like that but idk I feel like he's just really good at dealing with children and understanding them

✂️ - What is one of your OC’s worst memories?

definitely the night osprey left. he's constantly rethinking that night and knowing that he should have just taken that chance and left with him

🍀 - What originally inspired the OC?

I don't know about inspirations but I pretty much thought "wouldn't it be fucked up if osprey had to leave someone behind" so. yeah. also lowkey based on a storyline from a piece of media that we don't interact with anymore (for many reasons) and kind of missed reading about

🧠 - What do you like most about the OC?

main parental figure(s) but all adults in community are involved and treated equally in terms of authority in parenting

siblings are treated differently to other children but other children are all treated the same

parental figure name = first consonant in name + short vowel × 2

so "sarah" could = "soso" or "sisi" but not "seesee" or "siso"

some parents who want their kids to be particularly family-focused will name them following this (like momo)

babies.. :(((

Tallow is five, and his kiki is shouting again. He's always mad now, and it's usually at Tallow, even if he doesn't understand why. He doesn't understand a lot of things. His kiki is arguing with his mimi, he thinks, but he doesn't know what about. He doesn't want to hear it anymore.

Luckily, Osprey is with him, and Tallow grips his hand tighter, Osprey's hand reassuringly warm and safe even if he's scared too. Tallow knows he is, even if he pretends not to be.

"D'you think they'll stop soon?" Tallow whispers, keeping an eye on the door even as he turns to Osprey.

Osprey shrugs. "Dunno. I hope so." He squeezes Tallow's hand, and hesitates before continuing. "But... it'll be okay. Because I'm here, and I'll... I'll keep you safe."

Tallow nods. Osprey is only a bit bigger than him, but he trusts him to keep him safe even if kiki is a lot bigger and scarier. He just hopes he can keep Osprey safe too.

After what feels like an hour, the shouting finally stops, and Tallow can hear loud footsteps outside the door. He holds onto Osprey tighter, but the footsteps just pass by the door without coming in, and he knows he's safe. Kiki is gone, and he didn't even shout at Tallow or Osprey this time.
