Spock Reflections: Picard’s Message For Spock
Star Trek: Spock Reflections Chapters 2 & 3
Captain Jean-Luc Picard decides to inform a sole individual about what transpired with himself and James T. Kirk on Viridian III: That person is Spock.
" . . . It turns out that James Kirk had not died on the Enterprise-B . . . As the world already believed him to be dead, and explaining the mysterious properties of the Nexus would prove difficult, I instead thought it best to lay Captain Kirk to rest on Viridian III, where he gave his life to save millions . . . But I felt that you above all should know." - Jean-Luc Picard's message sent to Spock informing of Jim's passing.
Spock promptly leaves his duties on Romulus to carry out a personal solo mission on Jim’s behalf. Spock embarks across the neutral zone to visit Jim Kirk’s grave on Viridian III upon receiving Picard’s message.
Spock then carries Jim’s remains across the galaxy back home to Earth, and buries him on the Kirk family’s farmland property in Riverside, Iowa where Jim grew up.
